CirclePrinters to merge with Roto Smeets
It is announced in a press release that CirclePrinters Holding will acquire the shares and operational activities of Roto Smeets Group in a cash transaction. The agreement is expected to close by the end of March. CirclePrinters has gravure plants in Belgium and Finland and offset plants in Austria, Germany and Spain. Roto Smeets print division has a gravure and two offset plants in the Netherlands and an offset plant in Hungary, and its marketing communications division MPG is based in the Netherlands. The new combination will be governed by an Executive Board consisting of Peter Andreou (CirclePrinters) and Joost de Haas (Roto Smeets).

Immer Group opened digital printing plant in Latvia
Immer Group, a holding company which also includes the Kyiv based packaging printer Ukrplastic, has announced in a press release that they opened on 1 February a digital printing plant under the name Immer Digital in the city of Ventspils in Latvia. Immer Digital will manufacture flexible packaging material for both regional and export markets. Immer Digital uses HP Indigo digital printing equipment to produce 5 500 tonnes or 220 000 km of printed film per year. The initial investment amounted to more than € 5 million. Further investments of about € 30 million in the development and expansion of Immer Digital are planned.
